Love yourself, just a little bit more.
Ladies, it’s time you love yourself, just a little bit more. Loving yourself consists of so much more than taking a minute or two each day to refocus. As women we are constantly on the move, whether you are a mom juggling your children at home, running a business, or working a full time job outside of the home it’s crucial to your mental health to slow down and do something for yourself. It took 21 years in the retail, 3 years as a small business owner, 12 years of marriage, 2 kids, and 4 months of lock down to realize that this mama needed a break as much as the next mom.
Say what? I can’t put myself first!
Phsss. Hell yes you can. Don’t ever let anyone tell you that you CAN’T do something for yourself because you’re a mother, work-a-holic, or this or that. As a mother of two off the wall, goofy, sometimes annoying kids, (yes I love them so don’t think I don’t). I never thought to put myself first and do something for me. As women we are beat down about that society thinks we should look like or how we should act. I’ll admit that some of my insecurities come from how society thinks a woman should act or look. First off, after having two children and weighing in well over 200 pounds at labor traumatized me enough to NEVER want to be in front of the camera ever again. No one should ever feel that way. I carried both of my kids to 41 weeks, I gave birth to these kids, fed them, and nurtured them into these little humans that I will set out into the world at some point. It was time to love myself, just a little bit more. But love yourself.
In the summer of 2018 I did something that I never thought I would do. My son was 8 and my daughter 4. I got in front of the camera and did my first boudoir session. I was celebrating my 10 year wedding anniversary with my husband and well we planned to renew our vows but that didn’t happen. So I wanted to give him a little black book. I had my dear friend Lauren from Bokeh Love Photography photograph me for my very first boudoir session. OMG I was scared. I had no idea what to expect for my session. That day I loved myself just a little bit more.
OK enough about me.
Let’s talk about boudoir. I photographed three ladies back in January, 2020, before all this craziness of Covid-19 hit. I rented out a suite over at Harrah’s AC. My friends came with their hair and makeup on point, ready to go. My girl Kimberly was up first. Kim is a health and wellness coach located in the Philadelphia area, she’s been kicking my ass into shape since the beginning of May.
Next up is my girl Meghan. She’s an amazing boss lady at Meghan Leigh Photography. Meghan is a wedding photographer based out of Ashbury Park NJ . She primarily focuses on Weddings and her work is amazing! Check out her amazing boudoir session below!
Last but not least my girl Shantel. I’ve known Shantel for 9 years now from my retail days. When I moved to Baltimore MD back in 2006 following my retail dream I met Shantel. We both worked for Aldo Shoes for about an year and our professional relationship grew to a friendship that is still trucking today!
I loved photographing these women. They are driven, fun, smart, and amazing boss babes with businesses of their own. Want more information on booking a boudoir session with TCS?
