Yoga Poses And Boudoir Photos

How different Yoga poses give your boudoir photoshoot a sexy edge.

Are you thinking about how you are going to pose for your boudoir photo shoot? If you’re going to do a boudoir photography shoot, then you need some killer poses up your sleeve. Lucky for you this article will have you showing up to your shoot armed with a set of tried and tested boudoir poses.

Well, let’s face it, some people really do have natural God given gracefulness and others have experience in modeling, however the majority of us really don’t have a clue what to do with their bodies. Here is where yoga boudoir poses come into play. Yoga and boudoir simply belong together, they are the official relationship goals, They work hand in hand and many folks do not know that.

Adding Yoga to your Boudoir photoshoot

Yoga is the dance between control and surrender, between pushing and letting go. Learning when to push and when to let go becomes part of the creative process while mastering the open ended exploration of your being. I believe that a lot of people spend so much time in their heads that they are disconnected from their bodies.

Therefore, the thought of getting in front of the camera in one’s sexy lingerie on top of not having a clue what to do with their body can understandably feel terrifying. Fear not, my beauties! I can take control and walk you through tons of poses during a session.

Everyone tells me that they are using unusual muscles to get into the sexy poses. “Yoga posing” has become part of my regular shooting workflow. You might want a boudoir pose that is hard-hitting, sexy and strong. In which case… here’s one for you!

The “cobra pose”

The cobra pose, Lay on your belly with the tops of your feet flat on the ground and your hands underneath your shoulders. Tuck those elbows back.  Inhale and slowly push your shoulders away from the bed while keeping your hips and legs down.  Only go as far as you are comfortable.  Keep your shoulders down and away from your ears and feel your chest open up.  Press those hips into the bed and continue to breathe.  Release on an exhale after a few deep breaths.  If this is too challenging, keep your elbows on the ground and push up the same way.

As a boudoir photoshoot, this pose works great when paired with some eye-catching wardrobe pieces will give you a interesting yet sexy and erotic photo. This sexy pose also works well shot from above but you can also capture an eye catching boudoir pose on the side profile.

Showing some skin

Sitting forward with your legs crossed over is another great pose. This is a slightly more advanced pose, but one that looks amazing when done right.

It’s also one of the best boudoir photo poses for keeping your modesty intact – even without any clothing or props. You will want to bend one leg up and fold the other leg underneath your body. Next you will need to lean forward, resting your arm on the leg closest to the camera. Fingers and toes should be softly pointed. This pose is to make sure you are feeling relaxed and confident. I want it to create soft, almost balletic shapes in the body.

Visually I find yoga poses very elegant with the beauty and strength that I enjoy incorporating in each photograph. Truthfully, while I have trained myself through the ins and outs of posing, when choosing yoga poses to create eye catching, beautiful and sexy boudoir photos, I take many factors into consideration: including wardrobe, body shape, skin tone, props, lighting, the final product and the overall feeling that my client wants to convey.

As a female, I hope I can give you a helpful perspective on some tasteful and sexy poses to include in your next boudoir session. So, whether you are an avid fan of yoga, a dancer or neither and simply want a set of beautiful portrait images I can design a yoga pose photo shoot that expresses you in the most beautiful way.
